Moving Right Along

I've had a relatively productive week. I've spent most of it proofreading my manuscript and checking it for continuity. I'm pretty sure it still makes sense!
Had some weirdness happen Friday, with the disappearance of my flash drive. It fell completely off its ring on my carabiner. I pretty much figured it was gone, then today it appeared on the driver's side floor of my car. Amazing. This after I spent yesterday copying stuff from the laptop to floppys then to the hard drive in my office-which is now the official copy. I have ordered a new flash drive-and it will be even better than the old one. I'm just glad I found it-although I pretty much have everything backed up in my office.
My two free copies of Writer's Digest finally came in yesterday-I'm pretty much read one and am working on the other-and they are both full of important info. Hopefully, as soon as I can get the manuscript completely finished, I can really start scoping out agents. I'm still working on an idea for the Short Short fiction contest and some articles to post to the free sites I've found.
Rumor has it that the new Rock Star show will be looking for someone to front Van Halen. There's some tough shoes to fill. I'm gonna send a video in just for giggles and see what happens. Kirt's going to also. That would be a scream. I'm ready for my new stage clothes to come in so I'll have something decent to wear when we film the band. I don't know how I'm going to get my costume for the Halloween gigs done in time. I haven't even bought the material yet. I'll be up all night Friday. That's gonna suck.
Well, here's to another fine week. Check ya later.

Another victim

I've pounced upon another victim to read part of the "great American rock novel." I sent the Prologue to my friend Roslyn, and she said it was pretty good-it moved fast and didn't get bogged down with a lot of details. Good, that's exactly what I'm going for. She also mentioned it's not a genre she'd pick up but it did seem to be interesting. I'm lucky that I have educated friends who can read something and be honest about it, and not just butter me up because they're my friends. I want it to be as good as it can be before I send it off to a publisher.
I haven't a chance to look at the list of agents I got from one of my writing e-newsletters. But as soon as the manuscript is completely finished I'll start fishing through that. I'm also hoping my copy of Writer's Digest will come in soon. I've learned a lot from the weekly e-mails.
I'm gonna jump in and send my resume to Berklee College of Music in Cambridge. That would be something. I loved out west but I don't know if I would enjoy living up there. I'd miss the warm weather for sure. Maybe something will open up back in New Mexico or Arizona. That's where I'd really like to go back to. We'll see!

New Blog

Here's my new blog. Wow!
I think this is where I'm going to keep track of my writing-and some other things I've been doing. And it will probably be as boring as the last one!
